Objetivo General

The main objective is to determine genetic differentiation among Chilean maize germplasm accessions and to develop a diversity core collection with focus on environmental adaptation to high-temperatures.

Objetivos Específicos

  • To determine the molecular diversity of the Chilean maize germplasm collection
  • To characterize the geographic origin of maize landraces by using environmental temperature data
  • To develop and phenotype a pre-core collections of potentially adapted accessions high temperatures environments.
  • To determinate genetic differentiation between the pre-core and the non-selected maize accessions to identify selection signals in genomic regions.
  • To construct genetically diverse core collections from the environmentally defined pre-core based on marker information
